Adventure travel in China can introduce you to some of the most exciting adventures, with traveling down the Silk Road as quite possibly one of the most outstanding adventure opportunities. The Silk Road has connected China with other regions for years, including India, Persia, Arabia, Greece and Rome. This has helped promote the change of products, cultures and ideas among cities and civilizations. A visit to Chang’an, capital of China at this time, spans miles within this country and is a great sight to see along the Silk Road route.

You will definitely not be short of choices when visiting China. As you would expect with a country so vast and with the greatest population, there are many adventure opportunities available such as hiking, eco-tourism, culture focused activities, overland expeditions or a cruise along the Yangtze.

Anyone seeking a combination of nature and adventure will want to look into the many hiking opportunities in China, ranging from lush green of the land to high mountains with snow-blanketed peaks. The hiker could find himself or herself in places such as the Tibetan Plateau or in the tropical forests of South China. Of course, a hiking on The Great Wall is a wonderful opportunity for any adventurist.

You also will not want to miss the Panda tours which allows you to see these splendid animals specific to the country of China. Most of China’s Pandas are in Sichuan and well conserved and protected by the Chinese government. There are up to sixteen reserves for China’s Pandas and, to no surprise, eleven of the reserves are in Sichuan. As you see, Sichuan is where you will want to go for viewing Pandas during your adventure travel to China. It would be well worth it set aside some time and relax a bit from other higher intensity activities and see these beautiful, protected creatures during your trip.

An eco-tour is another great adventure opportunity you could enjoy during your travel to China. You can observe many of the birds and interesting plant life of this country. Actually, China is known for its biodiversity with its plateaus, grasslands and even deserts. China also offers an abundant number of native species in terms of animals and plants, which surely attracts many tourists.

As with all adventure travel, be sure to check the climate in your anticipated destination to ensure you do not travel during seasons more likely to experience weather that could prevent you from enjoying your trip to the fullest. China is no different.

As you see, though, adventure travel to China has plenty to offer the adventure seeker. There are many appealing activities, sights and attractions from which to choose along with a variety of cities offering good accommodations and a cultural experience.
